Last week we couldn’t communicate with our market research instructor about New Coke case. She had a different point on the issue. That was the beginning of questioning the courses I took, being biased about issues and depending on theories on books.

Today we had innovation class and we did 3M case that we knew from new product development course also. When I talked about strategic problem and the failure of product, she couldn’t understand me. But I know from my previous course, it was true. I realized that all the instructors are not same with self-development and realizing the facts about cases in depth.

In our faculty, there are two instructors that have deeper and wider perspective about those issues, I think. After those instructors’ courses, I began to think like them. So, I can criticise others because of having narrow perspective.

Today, in innovation course, instructor said interviews are the most effective and expensive way to have reliable information about customers. I know that if I talked again, she wouldn’t understand my point of view but I can say from here: People are not honest at in-depth interviews and the most effective way is neuro-marketing! I don’t know whether she knows about it!

She needs update like a computer, because she is still rely on theories =) I know, I shouldn’t say it as a student but to teach something, they should follow the new trends and works about their areas as an instructor. Most of the people in class believe what she says. So, it is not easy to say that I don’t believe you, you are out of date. I can recommend them to read more before classes.

Another problem, they don’t believe us if we say something different or new which they don’t know. They can easily ignore you. I am upset to being ignored when I tried to talked. For more credit, you should memorise what book says and say it again and again like a parrot!

Biased and out-dated instructors like students who know theories like a book and talk for only being talked. For that reason, I don’t like talking in class too much and I am receiving lower grades from those unnecessary people.

I don’t think that they would read what I wrote. However I didn’t intend to complain about my school or instructors. They should be more open-minded and curious about the newest trends. I am happy to be here but taking some courses from those kind of instructors is waste of time for me.
